UPDATED: Here’s a photo of me by Tricia Gosingtian during the event. As seen on her post here.

Last October 10, Tricia Gosingtian had a book launch at National Bookstore Glorietta 1 for her very first book, 150 Style Essentials For Every Girl.

Being a huuuge fan of Tricia, I can’t possibly miss the chance to meet her and support her in this historical part of her life. You see Tricia was my ultimate fashion icon, my life peg, and my greatest inspiration. So even though I’m from the South, I know my travel would be very much worth it.

When I arrived at the venue, I saw Tricia taking photos with the massive displays of her books. I was so close to her, and I was just in awe. Thinking she is so much prettier in person, haha!

Then she suddenly looked at me and said, “Hi! Nice finally meeting you!”. I was so surprised that she recognized me! It’s because I always comment on her blog, she probably memorized my name already. haha! Then there was one time she replied to me on facebook saying “BTW congrats on the Meg thing? I saw your name in the list! Good luck :D”. The MEG thing was a reality show by MEG magazine so she probably saw my face there, hihi.

I was so kilig when she hugged and greet me, all I said was Oh My Gosh! And then I just had to ask her for a photo, and she was so nice to say yes! I’ve said it on my instagram and I will say it again, I tell you she’s perfect in every way, every angle, inside and out. Can’t believe that a very special person like her would remember someone as simple as me.

The event was just as perfect as her. hihi :)

There was a buffet! (My favorite part ‘cause the food was awesome and delish and they’re free for all the guests!)

Here’s what I ate at the event. I also had the penne pasta, but I ate it too fast, I forgot to take a photo of it, haha

Cupcake wonderland by Sonja’s! The vanilla sunshine and chocolate surprise was awesome!

But these were Tricia’s favorite, the red velvet! She says it’s the best in the world!

Of course, this event would not be complete without the girly details, here’s a display from one of Tricia’s favorite makeupbrand, Canmake! Canmake is based in Tokyo, and we all know how Tricia is very inspired by Japanese culture, she is the best ambassador for the brand.

I actually came with my full makeup on because of Canmake. Before the date of the event, they announced that they will be choosing the best gyaru-inspired makeup at the event who will be winning prizes! So I had to effort, haha!

And it paid off! Because I won, hihi. Thanks you so much Canmake for choosing me! I know it’s not really much gyaru, but I can say my look is modern gyaru. Something you can really wear at an event. The key details to my look is the defined brows, liner and red lips! Which apparently was Tricia’s choice too!

Here’s the goodies I won from Canmake!

Thanks again Canmake! Here’s a photo of me with Canmake’s General Manager Eri Ito

Before the actual book signing began, videos were being played on the screen to get everyone all pumped up. Here’s Yoona from one of the videos, cause Casio was there to support Tricia too!

The launch was hosted by this gorgeous gal, Erin Torrejon!

After a few minutes, it’s finally time for Tricia to take the center stage! First, she thanks everyone who came to her launch despite it being held on a weekday. She also giggles about how the event was just as she imagined it would be, with cupcakes and makeup, elegant and fun! She reveals that the “SECRET PROJECT” she’s been talking about for months in her blog, was this book. She talks about the contents of the book, that it is simple and straight forward but something that can really teach girls like me a lot not only about fashion but also about beauty, blogging and more!

After her speech and Q&A, the first 20 were called for the book signing. Here’s me with fellow blogger and fan Alyssa, waiting patiently to get our numbers called. FYI I only met Alyssa at this event and we instantly clicked 'cause were both Tricia fanatics haha! You can obviously see she’s a fan because of her blonde hair, hihi.

And it was finally time for me to have my book signed! She congratulated me on winning the Canmake contest, and I complimented her saying she looks so much like Yoona in person! haha! She said it’s probably because of the hair.

And of course, I just had to take a selfie with the selfie queen herself!

Here are more photos of my moment with Tricia from Candymag.com

Haha the selfie caught on cam!

Before I left, she wished me luck on I Am Meg, hugged me and she again said “Nice finally meeting you”. Haay I wish I could just stay there beside her, lol.

Everything was sooo worth it! It’s definitely a dream come true meeting Tricia in the flesh and getting a chance to have a short chat with her! I blogged about this cause I will definitely cherish this moment. It is now my NO-FAIL-HAPPY-THOUGHT! And Tricia if you’re reading this, Congratulations again and I can’t wait for your next book! You and your family deserve all these blessings cause you’re all very kind and talented people. I love you! - RUTH
